About Jugs Series
The first Jugs series was composed in 1995/1996 after a great success
of the three previous series (Drunkards' Heads, Harem and Golems). It included
12 bottles, all filled with whiskies. As soon as the first edition appeared
work on the second one started. The new series that was finished in July
1997 involved 5 new pieces. The third series was completed in 1998 and
included 6 Irish whisky bottles. The Jugs series covered all the Czech
whisky production and all types of whisky imported to the Czech Republic
those days.
Jugs Characteristics
Contrary to the previous series, all the bottles in the jugs series
are of a similar jug shape with a handle. Only Avoca Irish Whiskey and
King Barley Over 12 Years Whisky differ slightly. On the fronts of these
two bottles there are ledges on that labels are placed. The bottles are
produced in various colours, from self-colour to three-colour jugs. The
labels are of different shapes: round ones, irregular with pictures characterizing
the whisky or the producer (e. g. Gold Cock Malt Whisky Over 6 Years marks
a cock on the label), and the most interesting are those in shapes of ornamental
historical badges, crests and emblems. The bottles are plugged with corks
and, in addition, on the top of the corks there are golden round stamps.
Minor Variations
During the production time several small variations in labels and colours
occurred. Hence Gold Cock Fine Malt Whisky Over 3 Years and Gold King Ancient
Style Rye Whisky were innovated. They changed their colours (in accordance
with their names) to gold. The labels appear now in black with golden prints
on it. Since 1996 all the labels also show the logo with the production
year in short (6 for 1996 and 7 for 1997).
